Abstract

193,453. Penfold, H. L. Sept. 26, 1921. Tanks.-Petrol tanks for aircraft comprise a corrugated liquid container A, a layer B of yielding or resilient packing, a sheet metal casing D, and a cage C formed of diagonally-arranged wires. In a modified form, the wire cage is embedded between two layers of packing inside the casing D. The petrol and air connections may be provided with valves automatically closed against spring action by excessive pressure in the container.
