Abstract

193,286. Remington, J. S. March 2, 1922. Proving or raising appliances.- In dough-testing apparatus in which the maximum displacement, of the dough is registered by a piston, a supplementary member is provided to indicate the minimum or final displacement. The piston B is of aluminium and rests on a measured quantity of the dough in a. graduated glass jar. The stem C is hollow and passes through a flanged aluminium lid J. In order that it may be held in the highest position to which it is raised, it is threaded or grooved externally to engage lightly with a safety-razor blade F' held between stamped out parts G, H of the lid. The supplementary member for indicating the final displacement of the dough consists of a light piston E the stem of which slides in the hollow stem C. According to the Provisional Specification, the stems of the pistons may be graduated.
