Sheafing or binding apparatus. - A sheafing apparatus for straw &c. comprises a platform 1 carrying standards 2 to which is pivoted at 3 a lever 4 adapted to embrace a pivoted ratchet arm 8. In use, the straw is placed directly on the platform 1 and the lever 4 is depressed to compress it, a clutch 6 engaging with ratchet teeth 10 on the arm 8 to prevent retrograde movement. Twine is led from a receptacle 12 over the axle 15 of the lever 4, through a clip 16, and along a groove 13 to a groove 17 and hole 18 in the arm 8.
