424,085. Wire strainers. HARRISON, H. L., Crossways, Saltford, Somerset, and HARRISON, R. S., West Tytherton, Chippenham, Wiltshire. Dec. 1, 1933, No. 33746. [Class 45] A lever tool D is provided with a forked wedge-shaped end A which may be used for extracting staples or other fasteners and serves as a fulcrum when the tool is used for straining wire. The wire is gripped in a slot B by a pawl C which is serrated on both ends and may be swung in either direction about its pivot to close the grip so that the lever can operate in either direction. The gripping surface is eccentric to the pivot of the pawl to permit gripping wires of different gauge.
