191,934. Satchwell, L. Dec. 16, 1921. Addition to 155,689. Resistance grids.-The grid resistance described in the parent Specification is modified by slotting the continuous strip of resistance material transversely to provide a zig-zag current path, making the strip of stiff material several times wider than the insulating separators, and providing thicker separators. As shown in Fig. 2, the transverse slots 4, 5 are stamped in groups, representing component grids, with longitudinal slots 7 and transverse cuts 8 arranged so that when the strip is bent into zig-zag form, as shown in Fig. 1, a connecting-piece 11 is formed between adjacent grids. The grid separators consist of a strip of crimped metal 12, doubled upon itself, and arranged edgewise between two flat strips 13 of mica provided with holes to receive the assembly bolts 10 which pass through the holes 6 of the grid and are secured to T-section clamping- plates 9 at their ends.
