Abstract

Street and like lanterns ; overhead incandescent lamps.-Relates to incandescent gas lamps for street or outdoor lighting, of the type in which the gassupply pipe B, B<2> and the mixing-chamber C of the burner are connected together by a Bunsen head D, which telescopes at C<2> into the part C and makes a butt joint D' with the part B', so that the head can be connected or disconnected by a push or pull movement in line with the axis of the telescopic joint, a single fastening-bolt E being provided. The improved lamp is provided with an outer casing A, which encloses the Bunsen bead D and its associated parts and has a hand orifice A<3> opposite the Bunsen head, through which the head can be withdrawn. In the form shown, the orifice is provided with a closure A', which may be secured by a bayonet-joint, and the casing is supported by radial arms B' on the gas-supply pipe B. The mixing-chamber C is separately secured to the supply pipe B by a central screw socket, so that when the Bunsen head has been detached, the mixing-chamber can be withdrawn from below without disturbing the reflector A'. The Bunsen head is fitted with a slidable air-regulating sleeve G<2> operated by means of a screw G, and the nipple D' is fitted with a regulating-screw F<1>.
