24,311. MacFarlane, O. P., and Randall, E. L. Oct. 27. Atmospheric vapour burners; vaporizing-apparatus; burners, attaching.-A vapour burner such as used in inverted incandescent lamps, and comprising a mixing-tube extending downwards from a hollow casting or mixing-chamber forming the burner body, is arranged so as to be readily taken apart for inspection &c. It comprises (1) an oil-heater tube B secured to the burner casing A by an externally removable segment a fitting over a gap in the casing, (2) a vapour tube E fitted to the mixing-chamber D by a valve-like part having a conical shoulder e<2> at one end and a screwed tightening-cap e<4> at the other, (3) radial air-inlet tubes C screwed in the mixing-chamber D, and provided at their outer ends with integral flanges C<2> which seat against the burner casing, and (4) a starting- cup G with sleeves sliding over the mixing and vapour tubes H', E. In the construction shown, the tube B fits in an inverted U-shaped slot in the casing A, the segment a screwed thereto being fixed to the tube or, alternatively, being provided with an upright U-shaped slot. A passage f<1> connects the tube E with the burner nipple. An annular plate I is fixed to the tube B, and a tube J for feeding spirit to the cup G is provided. The burner head H screwed on the lower end of the mixing - tube, and secured thereto by a transverse pin or otherwise, clamps the mantle-holder F against a flange H<2>.
