Pulley-blocks, axle, frame, and like pulleys. -A snatch-block or pulley has the block provided with hooks c, c<2>, eyes, &c., disposed so that, when the rope E to which the pulley is attached is engaged by the hooks &c., the rope lies along the side of the block and helps to strengthen the parts of the block over which it passes. The bar C carrying the hooks c, c<2> slides in the slide D to allow some play.
