Limbs, artificial.-In an artificial hand having one or more fingers forming rigid hooks, metal or equivalent strengthening-pieces are used to line the inner surface of the hooked fingers. The form of artificial hand shown comprises two rigid hooked fingers d, e, two articulated fingers b, c, and a spring thumb a adapted to co-operate with the forefinger b for gripping articles in the usual manner. The metal strengthening-piece f is bifurcated so as to line both fingers d, e and is secured by the pin f<1> and the nut f<2> inserted in a slot passing right through the hand. One finger only or three fingers, may be formed as strengthened hooks.
