Locking-catches. - A device for locking gas taps and the like comprises a spring b secured to the supply pipe at one end, and engaging both wings of the thumb-piece c at the other end, depression of the spring in a direction parallel to the axis of the tap being necessary, before the latter can be turned. As shown in Fig. 4, the spring may be slotted and formed with a depression passing under the thumb piece; or it may be cut away along the dotted line a so as to abut against the opposite ends of the thumbpiece.
