13,637. Babcock & Wilcox, Hollick, F. W., and Gray, A. Sept. 25. Jib cranes.-In a jib crane having a differential train interposed between the luffing and the raising and lowering gears to maintain the load at a constant level during the luffing, the differential gear is in the form of a cryptogear, and the luffing is effected through a crank member 3 which is connected to the jib by a link 4 and operated by gearing 11. The crank member is connected by a rope 5 to the idlercarrying member 7 of the differential. The jib is counterbalanced by a pivoted weight 15 connected to the crank 3 by a link 17.
