Abstract

12,081. Goss Printing Press, [Goss Printing Press Co.]. Aug. 21. Locking - devices. - In means for locking a forme in a chase by a single operation, the locking movement of the sidestick is caused to move the foot-stick into locking position. The side-stick 12 is connected by links 17 to a locking-bar 19 operated by a screw 23, and the foot-stick 11 is operated by a locking-bar 15 connected by links 13 to the bottom of the chase. The side-stick, in its movement towards the forme, engages the head of a screw 21 carried by the locking-bar 15, which is thus simultaneously operated. The foot-stick can be further tightened, if necessary, by rotation of the screw 21. The foot-stick has notches 26 to receive the ends of the column rules. In a modification, the bottom locking-bar is in two parts connected by links.
