Invalids' tables; reading-desks.-A collapsible invalids' table is provided with an adjustable member m to receive and serve as a guide for adjustment along the framework of a bedstead or sofa, and means for allowing the table top h to be adjusted in inclination and to be reversed on its supporting-arm g so as to bring it centrally over the standard e; further, to allow the table to be used as an easel, the standard e can be adjusted in inclination. The base consists of two arms c, between which is pivoted the block a carrying the standard e. The arm g has two supporting-sockets g<1>, g<2> at right-angles at the end, so that either can be fitted on the telescopic rod f, and so as to allow the table to be arranged at right-angles to the standard e as shown or parallel thereto for use as an easel. Both of the supporting- fittings s, t are provided with projections to engage slots in a collar u, so that the inclination of the top h can be adjusted when in the position shown and when reversed. The adjustable member m is mounted on a folding telescopic upright k. In a modification, the supporting-arm g has two parallel circular cheeks pivoted on each side of a circular disk on the end of the telescopic rod f, and a bent rod for use as a book-rest may be pivoted along the axis of the circular cheeks. A chair leg may rest in a cup-shaped member p secured to the base.
