Abstract

10,169. Scott, W. G. July 13. Infantry shields.- A rotating disk 1 pierced by radial slots 2 allows observation while affording protection from projectiles. The edges of the slots are burred to divert a projectile striking at a slot. The disk may be fitted with vanes to constitute a fan for repelling noxious gases. In lieu of a disk, an endless shutter or a revolving turret may be employed. The shield may be used on an armoured motor-car.
