Collapsible spindles and rollers.-An intaglio printing-cylinder comprising a tubular shell h and a collapsible core or roller, is constructed with loose rings f for moving the parts of the core endways and retaining them on the shaft. The core comprises movable segments d farmed to engage tapered parts b of the shaft a. The segments are engaged and moved endways to expand and contract the core and secure or release the shell h, by flanged rings f operated by nuts g. Pins i in the segments may be provided, engaging holes in the rings f to maintain the segments in position longitudinally. In a modification, two shells h and sets of segments d are mounted end to end on the same shaft.
