23,820. Marks, E. C. R., [Weave-Print Co.]. Nov. 6. Etching ; transferring designs.-Relates to means for transferring a design from a flat plate to a roller so that no visible break may occur on the roller between the two ends of the pattern, particularly applicable to transferring a design in resist prior to etching as described in Specification No. 23,819, A.D. 1908. The plate e is made of yielding material and has a portion of the design repeated so that the two ends of the design exactly coincide. The roller a supported on pivoted arms b is then lowered on to, and rolled over, the plate for slightly more than a complete revolution. If the circumference of the roller and the length of the design are different in length, the roller is given a motion relative to the plate by means of a pinion c and a rack d capable of a longitudinal motion. After rolling over the plate, the roller is lifted by arms b.
