Abstract

7338. Reinhard, E. May 23, 1914, [Convention date]. Blast and aspirating apparatus, injector and ejector.-A multiple-jet apparatus for ventilating comprises a blast-pipe c mounted on a three-armed spider b within a pipe a. The blast-pipe terminates in a tube d closed at the end and screwed and stepped externally to carry a series of nozzles e, e<1>, e<2>, e', e<4>. Compressed air escapes from the tube d by a series of openings k and issues through the annular orifices h formed by the nozzles and also between the cap i and the last nozzle By loosening the nut l and rotating the nozzles, the orifices h may be adjusted simultaneously, as projecting ribs and studs g, f prevent individual rotation. By making the pitches of the screws of the nozzles proportional to their number in the series, the orifices h will remain equal. By reversing the position of the spider carrying the nozzles, the apparatus may be used to produce a suctional effect.
