Abstract

Pneumatic.-Relates to air guns of the kind in which a hinged barrel can also move longitudinally under the action of a spring, to bring a projection on the barrel into engagement with a recess in the front of the air chamber, for the purpose of locking the barrel and forming an air-tight joint. The invention consists (1) in a special arrangement of the unlocking lever, (2) in means for disconnecting the rear end of the cocking-link, and (3) in the provision of a lip j on the barrel to prevent the projection h from rubbing the end of the air chamber during the opening and closing movements. The barrel a is mounted to slide on a block d fitted on a hinge-pin e, and is pressed backwards by a spring i and moved forwards to disengage its projection h from the recess in the air-chamber b by a cranked lever k, pivoted on the barrel and engaging by its rear end with an extension f of the air chamber. The rear end of the cocking-link l has an enlargement which slides in a slot m in the casing. This slot is enlarged at the front o, so that the link can be disengaged by sliding the barrel forwards beyond its normal unlocking position. This movement is only possible when the stop-pin p is removed.
