Abstract

4455. Goldschmidt, Akt.-Ges., T. March 20, 1914, [Convention date.] Alloys.-Copper is alloyed with manganese or an alloy thereof in the presence of phosphorus, and the resulting alloy is added to a brass, bronze, or nickel alloy bath. The preliminary alloy is prepared with the use of phosphorcopper, or copper in admixture with elementary phosphorus, and may contain from 0À5 to 25 per cent of phosphorus and from 30 to 50 per cent of manganese.
