3015. Schultz, F. Feb. 24. Tent poles and tent-pole fittings.-To accommodate shrinkage in the coverings of tents, the pole is made with two or more sections of its length coupled together by a sleeve 7, Fig. 2, fixed to one portion and containing a spring 10 or other resilient member such as india-rubber. The ends of the sections are reduced in diameter, and the spring is fixed in the sleeve. The lower end of the pole is similarly reduced and fits into a flanged socket containing a similar spring. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 17,693/92, 16,962/98, 9150/01, 7152/03, 10,489/05, and 17,152/10.
