191,473. Chitty, C. W., and Woodlands, Ltd. Oct. 12, 1921. Treating with air and gases; mixing.-Wheat, before milling, is treated with a halogen gas or with a gaseous compound containing available halogen, such as chlorine, hydrochloric acid, or phosgene. The wheat is agitated in a drum or worm and 2-4 oz. of commercially pure chlorine &c. per sack of wheat is introduced. A large proportion of chlorine may be employed if tho treated wheat or flour produced therefrom is to be mixed with untreated material. Specifications 1661/01, 8091/03, 14757/03, 16938/13, and 168,938 are referred to.
