Atmospheric gas burners.-A spreading-device in the form of an inverted cone or its equivalent is adjustably secured in the mixing-tube above the nipple. and a gauze k is arranged below the top of the burner mouth. The central part i of the mixing-tube is of less diameter than the end parts. In one form, the nipple a is adjustably screwed into the end of the mixing- chamber, and an inverted conical spreader d is adjustably screwed into a boss f above the nipple. In the second form, the inverted conical spreader d forms the lower end of a slotted tapering extension of the upper part j of the mixing-tube, which projects downwardly into the lower part i, the two parts i, j being adjustably screwed together.
