Abstract
23,695. Whalley, C. Dec. 8. Containers or receptacles; discharging-appliances. -In a mixing-machine, particularly for concrete, tar macadam, &c., in which radiating arms carrying blades rotate within a fixed pan, such as that described in Specification 9111/08, an iron or other metal fender a, Figs. 1 and 7, is placed round the inside of the wall of the pan at its junction with the floor, to reduce wear. The fender is preferably made in segments, each consisting of a metal plate with two or more metal blocks at the back and secured to the pan wall by bolts d. A similar fender c is placed round the centre boss of the pan. A portion b of the fender a is cut away at the exit opening of the pan, and the lower portion k, Fig. 4, of the door is bent inwards to complete the fender when the door is closed. The door swings between brackets m and carries a bracket g pivoted at i to a bracket h on a shaft f, which can be turned by a handle f<1>. The brackets g, h are of unequal lengths, and a notched wheel f<2> and catch f<3> are provided to bold the shaft f and door in the adjusted position.
