Abstract
23,287. Mond, A., [Goldsmith, Akt.-Ges., T.]. Nov. 30. Chlorine is obtained by Hargreave's process at temperatures above 505‹ C., but below the melting-point of the salt present at any time. The reaction may be carried out in an inclined rotary furnace on the counter-current principle, the salt being used in powder form. The temperature may be regulated by regulating the velocity of the gases or the proportion of oxygen. Specification 20,604/93 is referred to.
