Abstract

22,925. Dixon, H. P. Nov. 23. Golf clubs; shafts.-The lower end of a golf-club shaft is stiffened by inserting in a transverse slit a steel strip or plate F so as to locate the flexing point of the shaft approximately midway between the handle and the head of the club. The shaft extends through a bore in the head and neck of the club, and is secured by a wedge I, which expands the end of the shaft into an enlarged portion H<1> of the bore. A cord wrapping G holds the strip F in position.
