398,639. Golf-club shafts. GIBSON, R. J., Royal Calcutta Golf Club, Tollygunge, Calcutta, India. Sept. 5, 1932, No. 24708. [Class 132 (ii).] The vibrations of a hollow steel-shafted golf club are checked or modified by placing a plug or plugs 2, 3 of resilient material inside the shaft 1 at one or more points intermediate its length. The shaft preferably tapers towards the head end and the plugs, which may be formed of rubber or cork, are wedged in position at or adjacent to the nodal point or points of the vibrations.
