Abstract

174,550. Taylor, H. June 14, 1921. Handles; billiards, cues for; golf clubs. - The weight and balance of a golf club, cricket bat, tennis racket, billiard cue or like sporting implement are adjusted bv means of weights and associated coil springs placed within a bore in the handle or other part, the bore being extended by an internally-threaded ring into which a closing- plug is screwed. As applied to a billiard cue, Fig. 1, the internallythreaded ring 6 secured at the end of the bore 2 receives a closing plug 5 which carries a guiding-pin 7 for the coil spring 4. Balls 3 of various weights are arranged at the inner end of the bore. In a modification, a coil spring is arranged at each side of the balls. In a further modification, Fig. 2, discs 12 are used instead of balls. The balls or discs may be threaded on the rod 7.
