Abstract

22,329. Thunhart, T. June 6,1913, [Convention date]. Pulleys.-In a clip pulley, the rope is gripped between pairs of clips 3 which are pivoted between the outer ends of U-shaped springs 4 guided in the rim of the pulley. The clips are provided with extensions which overlap and form a continuous guide. Radial rods 9 attached to the springs 4 carry rollers which are engaged by a cam-member- 11 to eject the springs when the rope is leaving the pulley. The outer ends of the springs being connected to the pulley rim by rods 6 thus open and leave the rope free. In a modification, each spring has a transverse pin guided in radial slits in the pulley rim and carrying rollers which engage fixed cam-grooves. The pulley is particularly applicable to rope railways.
