Retractive switches. - A switch used in a circuit adapted to release the locking-means of one of the doors of a gas - retort after the other door is opened comprises contact plates 35, 36 and a connecting-arm 37 mounted on a bolt 38. One end of the arm is in constant engagement with the plate 36 and the other end is pressed by a spring 39 towards the plate 35, contact with which is prevented by an insulated shoe 41 until this shoe is withdrawn by the opening movement of the door 12.
