Abstract

19,515. Garforth, Sir W. E., and Bousfield, G. W. Sept. 7. Jigging conveyers.-The actuating lever-lever D of a jigging conveyer operated by compressed air for use in mines is pivoted on a frame or base-plate L either forming part of the motor frame or base-plate L<1>, or detachably or pivotally secured thereto. As shown in plan in Fig. 1, the trough J is adjustably connected to the lever D by a rod H, and the lever D is rocked by a rod B carrying a piston reciprocating within the cylinder A. The pivot E of the lever D is carried by.a short link F pivoted to the frame L which is secured by bolts K to the motor base plates L<1>. In a modification, the pivot G is carried at the ends of inclined links pivoted to the motor base-plate, and is held rigid by a prop or column fixed between the roof and the floor of the mine. The links may be folded against the side of the motor frame for purposes of transport.
