Устройство включает шарнирно закрепленный на раме 3 с возможностью разворота отбойный щит (Щ) 1 с футеровками 2, смонтированными на нем с двух сторон. В рабочем положении Щ 1 стопоритс  фиксаторами (Ф) 6. Поток материала подаетс  конвейером, удар етс  о Щ 1 и передаетс  на другой конвейер. В зависимости от материала Щ 1 разворачивают одной или другой стороной и стопор т Ф 6 относительно рамы 3.
