Abstract
18,416. Carter, R. S. Feb. 24, [Convention date]. Dash-pots; connexions, attachments, and adjustments applicable generally for tensile and compressive springs.-Relates to shock-absorbers for use in conjunction with vehicle springs, and of the oscillating - vane type, and consists in providing means whereby the casing in which the vane moves may be angularly adjusted so that the vane may be brought to a normal position to suit all loads. Fig. 1 shows the invention applied to a liquid shock-absorber of the kind described in Specification 13,608/14. The liquid casing 1 is carried by a link 9 connected by a pin 11 to a bracket attached to the axle 12, and the laminar spring vane 2 is keyed to a link 4 connected by a pin 5 with the vehicle frame 7. The casing 1 is adjusted with respect to the link 9 by means of screws 10 engaging slots in the casing.
