Abstract
27,198. Crossley, W. Dec. 5. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Composite springs; dash-pots; connexions, attachments, and adjustments applicable generally for tensile and compressive springs. -Relates to hydraulic shock-absorbers, for use in conjunction with the springs of motorvehicles, and of the type in which a valvecontrolled perforated piston works in a cylinder the ends of which are connected by a by-pass. According to the invention, the perforated piston 2, working in a cylinder 1 pivotally mounted on the vehicle frame, has its rod 3 connected with the axle or the free end of one of the usual laminated springs, a spring 10 being mounted between the piston and an adjustable plate 11 at one end of the cylinder and a spring 7 being arranged between the piston valve 6 and the other end of the cylinder. An adjustable check valve 9 is provided in the by-pass 8. Reference has been directed by the Compt,roller to Specification 27,224/08.
