Helical and hydraulic springs; connexions and attachments applicable generally for tensile and compressive springs.-Relates to shockabsorbers intended to replace the usual vehicle springs, and consists in providing on the vehicle frame a liquid chamber formed of horizontal cylinders of large diameter hydraulically connected with vertical cylinders of small diameter, pistons directly connected with the vehicle axles being adapted to move in the small cylinders under the action of road shocks and hydraulically transmit movement to pistons in the large cylinders against the action of helical springs. In the example shown, the vehicle frame carries a fitting comprising horizontallyarranged cylinders b and a vertical cylinder c. Helical spring systems i, h are mounted between adjustable abutments k, l and pistons moving in the cylinders b, and a piston e moving in the cylinder c is operated upon by a rod f connected, say, by a universal joint with the vehicle axle. The space a between the pistons d, n is filled with liquid through a plug z.
