Abstract

17,731. Partridge, T. 0. July 27. Cylinder machines.-A brick machine comprises a pair of mould drums 2 mounted upon a central shaft 3 and each provided with moulds 6 fitted with inner and outer plungers 9, 12 which are operated respectively by an inner eccentrically - mounted roller 19 and an outer series of rollers 23, 22. The drums are formed with guides 7, 8, Fig. 4, for the inner plungers and guides 11 for the outer plungers. Material is supplied to the moulds by hoppers 27. During feeding, the plungers 12 are held clear of the hopper extension 29 by a cam 15 and the feed is adjusted by a gauge 24. The moulded bricks are detached from the plungers by a finger 25 and fall on to a conveyer 26. The moulds in the two drums are arranged in staggered relationship.
