Abstract

Moulds.-Relates to improvements in concrete block machines of the type comprising a mould box provided with hinged sides carried by a tilting frame which is operated by a lever and is locked in vertical or tilted position by a spring bolt. The spring bolt 27, Fig. 8, is pressed outwardly by a spring and is withdrawn by a chain 33 connected by a rod 34 to a handle pivoted to the main tilting lever. The mould comprises sides 1, Fig. 2, hinged to the frame 2 and divided by partitions 5 secured to the fixed bed-plate 6. The ends of the mould are grooved to receive the partitions and are moulded to shape the ends of the blocks. The mould is provided with a pallet 7 having moulded recesses 8 and the upper edges of the slabs are shaped by a former 9 provided with projections 11 and guide flanges 10 and furnished with a wooden block 15 adapted to be struck by a mallet. Cores 16, Fig. 6, are formed with shoulders 16<1> of uniform size to avoid changing the pallets. For solid blocks, the pallet holes are closed by stoppers 17.
