Abstract
15,626. Whelan, M. J. Jan. 5, [Convention date]. Closet seats and seat-lids.-Consists in making these of a wooden core built up of layers at various angles coated with vulcanite by subjecting the core covered with a sheet of semi-plastic fine rubber to great pressure in a mould. The core is left in a rough state so that the rubber adheres firmly to it. The filled mould is then placed in a vulcanizer, where the rubber is converted into a dense vulcanite. The lid is made similarly but without the central opening.
