Abstract
15,489. Jones, F. June 27. Fastenings operated by tools.-In locking an electric lamp in a holder, a snap spring on one part automatically engages a recess on the other and can only be released by a key. In one form, the lamp cap is recessed to form a shoulder A<3>, Fig. 1, and the holder has a leaf spring B<2>, Fig. 4, fixed at its lower end in a slot in the holder casing; a key, Fig. 5, can be inserted into the lower end of the recess and pushed upwards to force the spring against the wall of the casing and the lamp is then thrust out by the spring plungers. In a modification, the spring B<2> is stamped out of the holder casing, and is arranged horizontally for engaging an annular recess D, Fig. 11, on a conical cap provided with a recess D' for inserting the key. In a further modification, the holder is provided with a bulge G, Fig. 14, forming a shoulder at its lower end to engage the lower free end of a spring preferably located in a longitudinal recess in the cap, and a second bulge G<2> is provided for the reception of a key having a hooked end.
