Abstract

3674. Bowron, G. Feb. 15. Holders.-Incandescent lamps are locked in their holders by springs attached to, or forming parts of the holders, and can only be removed by the aid of a special key or lever. As shown in Fig. 1, a spring D, screwed or riveted to a holder of the bayonet type, projects into the slot, and a rim B and strips E, F, extending partially over the slot, prevent the lifting of the spring by ordinary tools. A recess K allows the insertion of the part L of a lever shown in Fig. 3. According to the Provisional Specification, locking may be effected by means of a screw or bolt extending through the holder, or by a pawl and ratchet-teeth ; the slot of a bayonet-holder may be closed by a cam, screw, or bolt; and a pawl may be arranged on a screw-holder to dig into the object when unscrewing is attempted.
