Spring wheels with continuous outer rigid ring and pneumatic cushions.-The boss 2 secured to the axle carries a plate 3 with overhanging flanges 4 from which project pairs of arms 9. The rim is supported by spokes 14 which pass between the pairs of arms and flanges and are secured to a ring 12 spaced from the boss. Inflatable pneumatic cushions are secured by their valves 34 to the arms, and to studs 26 on grooved slides 25 moving on the spokes. The slides are in two parts with a stepped joint 27 locked by screws 29. The rim member is guided in the plane of the wheel by a detachable plate 18 formed with flanges 19 secured to the flanges 4 of the hub member. The cushions maintain the wheel members concentric under normal conditions, and in case of their collapse the wheel is locked rigidly by inserting a ring between the boss 2 and ring 12.
