Abstract

5621. Fedeter, J. March 15,1913, [Convention date]. Separators for gaseous substances; separating liquids from solids by density.-In a machine for separating particles from a liquid or gas, the blades of the fan member are formed with side flanges 19, and the shrouds are united into a continuous ring 18. Openings in the ring allow the dust &c. to be thrown out into the funnel 11. The blades may be modified in shape and are arranged in spiral form on the shaft, the edge 20 of one blade being secured to the edge 21 of the preceding blade. The ring 18 is preferably made of dielectric material. The gas to be treated enters at 16, and the cleaned gas escapes at the other end.
