Processes of treating grain and seeds.-A heater a for grain or the like, enclosed in a casing b leaving a space through which air is drawn to be heated by contact with the chamber a and hotwater pipes c, is combined with a drying-apparatus comprising louvered or perforated columns or chambers d through which the heated air circulates and down which the grain &c. leaving the heater passes, and with cooling and aerating tubes or baffles i through or under which air is passed, and cooling pipes or chambers j. The temperature of the drier is regulated by valves f, g, which control the supply of hot and cold air.
