3985. Marks, E. C. R., [Maschinenbau- Anstalt-Humboldt. Feb. 16. Endless-chain machines ; pressing plungers and dies.-- A press for briquetting coal, coke, &c., comprises an endless chain of moulds 3 which are filled from a vessel 4 and pass beneath a plunger 7 which presses the material in each mould into a flat cake and then beneath an indenting plunger 10 which co-operates with plates 11 on the driving-drum 5 to subdivide the cake into briquettes. Forms of the plates 11 are illustrated.
