Abstract

2371. Boyd, J. Jan. 29. Spindle-driving apparatus; stop apparatus, non- automatic; delivery, stopping.-Tensioning-devices for spindle-driving bands, of the kind described in Specification 29,470/13 comprising a pulley F mounted on a sliding carriage H, are provided with a rod L, which, when it is drawn forward to reduce the tension on the band to stop the spindle, engages the front surface of a brake lever M by means of a stop L, so that when the rod is released the weights on the carriage withdraw the carriage and rod and move the brake member M<2> into contact with the spindle wharl C<1>. A stop O<4> on the carriage may engage a sliding or pivoted rod 0 to operate a "rove-stopper" to stop the delivery. In the Provisional Specification it is stated that the brake lever may be connected to a " rove-stopper " by means of a flexible wire or cord.
