Abstract

1899. Rose, W., and Rose Bros. Jan. 23. Packing and filling tea, tobacco, &c. into paper bags &c.-Relates to apparatus for charging bags or other receptacles with material, and consists in using two or more funnels 4, each of which is provided at its lower part with one or more shutters, gates, slides, &c. 6, in order to reduce the time required to charge a given number of receptacles. The receptacles are fed beneath the funnels by suitable mechanism or by hand. The shutters are operated, and the funnels are lowered into and lifted from the receptacles, by cams on the shaft 13.
