Abstract

29,520. Dick, A. B. Dec. 22. Delivery - apparatus. - Sheets are delivered from the drum of stencil duplicators by adjustable strippers, adjacent to the drum, acting in conjunction with adjustable guides carried by the drum and adapted to bend up the edges of the sheet for engagement by the strippers. The guides 52, of channel section, are adjustably fixed by gripping-plates 54, 53 and a clamping- screw 55 on a bar 51 extending between the heads of the stencil drum, and are set to lie below the edges of the sheet 56 to be stencilled and bend those edges as shown in Fig. 5. The strippers engage below the bent edges of the sheet, and consist of plates 59 frictionally held to, while permitting of adjustment along, a cross-bar 57 by a plate spring 62 arranged below a plate 61 secured to the stripper 59, a screw 63 effecting locking after adjustment.' The gripper plates have a projection 60 to engage the edges of the sheet and carry a star-wheel 60<a> to operate on intermediate parts of the sheet and ensure that it shall not adhere to the drum. The strippers may be set by a scale on the bar 57, or adjusted to the previously adjusted guides by means of a spring detent on the stripper adapted to be moved so as to be brought against the guide when the stripper is moved for adjustment.
