Feeding sheets. - Printed sheets as received from a printing-machine are fed to a bronzing- machine by means of projections on chains which work in grooved boards or metal plates. As shown, a number of sprocket chains m, fitted with projections 11, move over grooves in boards a, b connected by links d and bolts e and fitted on standards 12. The chains pass over wheels l, and adjustable wheels v, and over wheels on a shaft f driven by a chain-and-ratchet drive from the bronzing-machine A, the ratchet drive permitting an adjustment of the chains so that the front ends of sheets of various sizes may be fed in correct register to the bronzing-machine. The sheets are fed forward only when engaged by the projections 11, but if a sheet is not taken correctly by these projections, it is held back by stops 8. The stops 8 are carried by arms 4 actuated by a cam 2 of adjustable size formed of blocks 17, Fig. 4, with dovetailed projections which are passed through a recess 16 into a groove 15 formed in a block 14 fitted with a detachable cover 13. Screws 18 hold the cam in position. Wheels 10 carried by the arms 4 normally engage a sheet when the arm 4 drops, but if the sheet is not in correct position, these wheels fall into recesses and allow the stops 8 to hold the sheet until the next set of projections 11 is ready to engage it. The sheets finally pass over a table n fitted with a number of curved bars q, which guide the sheets to the grippers of the bronzing-machine.
