Abstract

Golf clubs.-In an adjustable-headed golf club, a toothed boss 7, Fig. I, is drawn into the socket portion 1 by means of a helical spring 17 located partly within the blade and partly in the socketportion. Two bars 12, 18, secured respectively to the blade and socket portion and to which the spring 17 is attached, are provided with mutually engaging portions 15, 23, which prevent excessive withdrawal of the blade from the socket portion prior to rotating the blade to the desired angle. The operative length of the rod 18 may be adjusted by means of a nut 21. In a modification, instead of using the rods 12, 18, a pin in the socket portion projects into a slot in a split collar 29, Fig. XI, and thus limits the movement of the blade. The tension of the spring is adjusted by means of a screwed rod 28 and a nut 21.
