Abstract

206,688. Watts, W. W. Oct. 27, 1922. Cigar cutters and piercers.-A tubular cutter f is attached to or formed integral with a screw e having a central cylindrical bore and engaging a nut b formed integral with a cup a to receive the end of the cigar. An ejecting-rod i, of square or other section, passes through a corresponding hole in a collar g attached to the upper end of the screw e, and is attached at its upper end to a milled head h formed with lugs k which are bent over a flange d at the upper end of a casing c attached to the nut b. On rotation of the head h, the nut e is rotated and the cutter f screwed downwards, its motion being limited by the collar g. On reverse rotation of the head h, the cutter f is withdrawn and the cuttings are ejected by the rod i.
