Turning-gear.-A starting-handle 7 is fixed to one end of a hollow shaft 6, which has at its other end one part 5 of a dog clutch, of which the other part 4 is on a short shaft 15 housed in the shaft 6 ; the two parts of the clutch are held together by a spring 17. The shaft 15 is connected to the engine shaft 1 through a one-way clutch 2. A second oneway clutch 8 is placed between the shaft 6 and a ring 10, which carries a projection 11 passing through an inclined slot in a fixed casing 13. On a reverse rotation, the clutch 8 locks the shaft 6 and ring 10 together, and the projection 11 moving in the slot in the casing disconnects the dog clutch.
